The innovative LokHead™ Winch Fire/Rescue Kit meets the certification requirements of the National Fire Protection Association Standard on Life Safety Rope and Equipment for Emergency Services NFPA 1983 (2017 ED) “T”. The winch is a portable or fix-mounted load-lifting, personal-hoisting winch used with an unlimited length of fiber rope. The captive head allows the winch to be used safely, and keeps the rope from accidentally releasing. Perfect for fixed or temporary applications and rescue. Harken Industrial offers the LokHead and its accessories fully boxed in a heavy-duty storage case that allows safe transport and rapid deployment. The kit includes the LokHead winch with reversible plate, waterproof carrying case, winch handle, tripod adapter with counter plate, control lever, CMC™ Variable Anchor strap, and two CMC ProSeries® carabiners. The strap and carabiners also meet NFPA standards. Spare parts available from any Harken Industrial dealer. The winch’s simple construction requires no lubrication and can be flushed clean with fresh water.

The LokHead can be used anywhere a load needs to be lifted and lowered. Rigged to a tripod, it can be used for confined-space rescue, for load moving/hauling, and man-riding.

Weighing just 5.6 kg (12.3 lb), the LokHead winch can be incorporated into tripod design without significantly increasing the overall weight.
The braking system controls descent and provides workers protection against free-falls. The encapsulating jaw cover protects fingers and clothing from catching in the winch.
Easy to rig and efficient, the LokHead makes the most of the operator’s strength. The winch offers a 40:1 power ratio with 2 gears: low-load, high line speed; high-load, low line speed.
The winch can be driven manually with the provided B10AL handle. Alternatively, use a compatible power drill with the power tool adapter (sold separately) to drive the winch when lifting goods and equipment.
The winch is designed for use with fiber rope 10 –12.7 mm (3/8 –1/2″) in diameter and unlimited line length.
